Yes this can happen. Although each box is designed for a specific target species by the size of the entrance hole and internal volume we cannot guarantee that other animal species will take up residence.
Our nest boxes come with an easy to install tree attachment system. Our tree attachment system is designed to expand as the host tree grows with age. This means no screws damaging the tree or strangling the tree as can happen with a fixed wire system.
Typically nest boxes should be installed between 3-6m depending on the target species.
Yes, leaf littler for the local area around the nest box is a good option to add to the inside of the nest box.
Yes. The roof is hinged for easy access, viewing and maintenance. All hinges are stainless steel for the longevity of the box. The roofs have a pitched roof to help quickly shed away any rainwater.
Your new nesting box is built from 25mm plywood for superior insulation and longevity in our harsh Australian weather conditions. One of the thickest production boxes currently for sale in Australia. This extra thickness helps with insulation. The nest box stays cool in summer and warm in winter.
You can order the nest boxes in either DIY or Fully assembled.
Fully assembled, you can have Bare Timber, Painted or Clear Coat.
Not as standard, But we can add emergency exits as an optional extra for a small cost. This offers animals a safe alternative exit if a snake, goanna or other predator attempts to enter via the main entrance.
